Who is Mickaël Frigout?
Mickaël Frigout is a wedding videographer based in Nantes, in the Loire-Atlantique region of western France. He has worked as a videographer since 2020, after several years as a wedding photographer. He has filmed more than 70 weddings in Loire-Atlantique, Brittany, Vendée, Paris, all over France and abroad. He works alone, in French or in English. His style is discreet and cinematic: no staging, just images that tell the day as it was lived.

Photographer first, then videographer
I was a wedding photographer before becoming a videographer. Those years left their mark. I look at the light before I look at the camera. I frame the way you frame a photograph: a face, a hand, a detail that tells something. And I know a photographer's constraints from the inside. On the day, we share the space without getting in each other's way, often without even needing to talk.
I have been filming weddings since 2020. Video adds what a photograph cannot keep: movement, voices, silences. The tremble in a voice during the vows. A father's laughter in the middle of his speech. Since then, I have filmed more than 70 weddings, most of them in Loire-Atlantique, and more and more of them far from Nantes.
What I keep from both crafts fits in one sentence: be in the right place, without being the centre of attention.

Truth
A wedding does not need to be staged to be beautiful. I never ask you to re-enact anything. I keep the moments exactly as they happen.
Emotion
A good film moves you every time you watch it. Voices, glances, honest laughter: that is the thread running through every film I make.
Narrative
Your day is a story. The film has a beginning, a rhythm, moments to breathe. It follows the order of emotions, not the order of the clock.
Timelessness
Trends fade. I avoid effects. In twenty years, your film should move you as much as it did the first time.

Where I work
I am based in Nantes, France. Travel is included within a 40 km radius, which covers almost all of Loire-Atlantique. Beyond that, a supplement of €0.80/km applies and is stated in the quote. I regularly travel across western France, to Paris and all over the country. And abroad, for couples who marry far from home.

The gear

The camera
I film with a Sony FX3. A compact, discreet camera that people quickly forget. It is built for low light: a dark church, a candlelit dinner, a dance floor. I do not add artificial light during the ceremony.

The sound
Sound is recorded with a Sennheiser MKE 600 shotgun microphone, plus microphones you cannot see, placed as close as possible to your voices during the vows and speeches. It is often the sound that brings the tears, not the picture.

The drone
Whenever the venue allows it. Some areas are subject to flight restrictions, especially near airports. I check yours before I answer. The drone is included in some packages and optional in the others.

First contact
You write to me through the form or give me a call. We then talk by phone or video call. I learn about your story, your venue and how your day will unfold. I reply within 24 hours.

If we are a good fit, I send you a proposal. We sign a contract and a 30% deposit secures your date. The balance can be paid in 3 instalments. I only film one wedding per day.

How I filmDelivery
I edit your film within 8 to 12 weeks after the wedding. You receive it through a private link to share with your loved ones. Every other question is answered in the FAQ.

Yes. I film alone, from several angles, with a Sony FX3 and a Sennheiser MKE 600 shotgun microphone. That is what lets me stay discreet. If you would like a second pair of eyes by my side, the Second Look option exists. I only film one wedding per day.
How long have you been a wedding videographer?
Since 2020. I was a wedding photographer before moving to video. That adds up to more than 5 years of experience and more than 70 weddings filmed, at a pace of 20 to 25 weddings per season.
