Wedding videographer FAQ
Thinking about a wedding film but still have questions? That's perfectly normal. Here are the answers to the things I'm asked most often. And if yours isn't here, write to me. I'll be happy to answer.
Before the wedding
How do I book you for my wedding?
It's simple. You can reach out via the contact form or call me at 06 31 56 13 45. We'll then have a phone or video call to get to know each other and talk about your wedding. If we're a good fit, I'll send you a proposal. Once we agree, we sign a contract and a 30% deposit secures your date. Each season, I only take on 20 to 25 weddings so I can fully invest myself in each one.
How far in advance should I book?
Ideally, 8 to 12 months ahead, especially for Saturdays from May to September which fill up fast. Some dates are booked up to 18 months in advance. But don't hesitate to get in touch even if your wedding is coming up soon. Last-minute availability does happen.
Can we talk before committing?
Of course, and I'd actually encourage it. I offer a first call by phone or video, with no commitment. It's the perfect time to tell me about your wedding, ask your questions, and see if my approach feels right for you. If you're in the Nantes area, we can also meet in person.
How far ahead should we book for peak season, June to September?
For a Saturday between June and September, allow 12 months, sometimes 18 for the most requested dates. I film between 20 and 25 weddings per season, only one per day. Once a date is taken, it's gone. Off season, from October to May, a few weeks are often enough. Either way, write to me: I reply within 24 hours.
Across France and abroad
Do you travel anywhere in France to film a wedding?
Yes. I'm based in Nantes and I film weddings all over France: Brittany, the Vendée, Anjou, Paris, but also Bordeaux, Provence or Normandy. No region is excluded. As soon as you have your venue and date, write to me. I'll confirm my availability and organise the trip, arriving the day before when the distance calls for it.
What are the travel costs for a wedding far from Nantes?
Travel is included within a 40 km radius around Nantes. Beyond that, each additional kilometre is charged at €0.80. If the wedding requires an overnight stay, accommodation is added to the quote. Everything is priced before you sign: you know the exact amount in advance, with no surprises after the big day.
Do you film weddings abroad?
Yes, across Europe and beyond. For a wedding abroad, I send you a detailed quote after our first conversation, transport and accommodation included. I handle the equipment logistics and scout the venue in advance. You have nothing to organise for me, and I speak English with your local vendors.
Are you a bilingual French and English wedding videographer?
Yes. I'm fluent in English. The first call, the preparation, the contract and the delivery can all happen in English or French, whichever you prefer. On the day, I'm comfortable with bilingual ceremonies and families from several countries. Vows and speeches in English are captured and edited with the same care.
Do you film in châteaux or private estates?
Yes, that's the setting for most of the weddings I film: châteaux, manor houses, wine estates, converted farmhouses. I scout the venue before the day to learn the light, the access points and the fallback rooms in case of rain. For drone footage, I check the local regulations and ask the owner's permission before flying.
Pricing and payment
How much does a wedding film cost?
Packages start at 1,790 euros for the Essential package (6 hours by your side and a 5 to 8-minute highlight film). The Signature package is 2,490 euros and the Prestige package starts at 3,790 euros. Each package can be tailored to your wishes. Full details are on the pricing page.
Is travel included in the price?
Yes, within a 40 km radius around Nantes. Beyond that, a supplement of 0.80 euro per kilometre applies. If your wedding requires an overnight stay, accommodation costs are added separately. I make all of this clear in the quote: no surprises.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes, in 3 instalments with no additional fees. A first third at booking, a second halfway through, and the final payment no later than 7 days before the wedding. It's automatic: nothing special to arrange.
Does the price change depending on the number of guests?
No. The price depends on the time I spend with you and the length of the film, not on the number of guests. A wedding of 40 people and a wedding of 250 people fall under the same collection if the day lasts as long. Only travel and options, such as drone footage or the next-day brunch, change the total.
After the wedding
When will I receive my wedding film?
Your highlight film takes 6 to 8 weeks, because every moment deserves to be crafted with care. With the Prestige package, your film arrives within 6 weeks. As soon as it's ready, you'll receive a private link to watch it.
How is the film delivered?
You receive a private link to your online gallery, protected by a password. There you watch your film, share it with your loved ones, and download it in full quality as many times as you like. The gallery stays open for 6 months. Download your film as soon as you receive it, and keep a copy on two separate devices. For a keepsake you never have to think about, your film is also available on a USB drive, in master quality.
How long does the online gallery stay available?
6 months from the day it goes live. During those 6 months, you can come back whenever you want and download your film as many times as you need. After that, the gallery is deleted and the link stops working. It also protects your images. A private link left open for years eventually ends up somewhere you never intended.
Can I get the wedding film on a USB drive?
Yes, as an option at €200. It holds your film in its master export, the highest quality I produce, far beyond what an online download allows. It is the object you keep with your wedding photos and pull out again in twenty years. It depends on no link, no password, no expiry date.
Can I request edits?
The music is chosen together beforehand. Once the film is finished, one round of minor adjustments is included: swapping a few shots, tweaking a passage. It needs to stay light: the heart of the film is crafted in advance so that it feels like yours from the very first viewing.
Can I access the raw footage later?
I keep all your footage for 3 months after the film is delivered. After that, it's deleted. If you'd like to retrieve it, that's possible for an additional fee. My advice: save your film on multiple devices. It's a memory that deserves to be well looked after.
How long is a wedding film?
Between 5 and 25 minutes depending on the collection. The Essential delivers a highlight film of 5 to 8 minutes, the Signature 8 to 15 minutes, the Prestige 15 to 25 minutes. It's the length that keeps the emotion intact without dragging. As an option, the ceremony can also be filmed in full, with a second fixed angle.

On your wedding day
How long do you stay on the wedding day?
It depends on the package: 6 hours for the Essential, 10 hours for the Signature, and 14 hours for the Prestige. In every case, we plan the timeline together so I'm there for the moments that matter most to you.
Will we notice you during the ceremony?
No, and that's the whole point. I move quietly. I never ask your guests to move. No added lights, no interruptions. Discreet enough that you'll forget I'm there. Discover my approach to learn more.
Can a videographer and a photographer work together without getting in each other's way?
Yes, and it's my everyday reality. I was a wedding photographer before moving to video, so I know their constraints from the inside. We share the space without needing to discuss it: each of us steps back when it's the other's turn. You'll never have two people jostling in front of you during the ceremony.
Do you film weddings over several days?
Yes. Some traditions and some destination weddings span two or three days: a religious ceremony one day, the party the next, a brunch the day after. Each additional day is priced separately in the quote. The next-day brunch also exists as a simple option, at €750, to keep the last laughs of your weekend.
Practical tips
We're not comfortable on camera, is that a problem?
Not at all. Most couples I work with feel the same way. And that's completely normal. I won't ask you to play a role. I film you as you are: laughing, walking, looking at each other. During the couple session, I guide you with simple directions: walk together, whisper something to each other. Nothing forced, nothing artificial.
Do we need a detailed schedule for the day?
Even a basic timeline helps a lot. The key moments (the first look, the ceremony, the speeches, the first dance) I need to know when they're happening so I don't miss a thing. I provide a template timeline you can adapt. And we do a final check together a week before.
Do you come alone or with a team?
I film solo, from multiple angles. It's enough to cover your entire day. I also offer to film your full ceremony with a dedicated fixed angle. And if you'd like even more depth, the Second Look option adds a second person by my side. We can discuss it together.
What if we need to postpone or cancel?
In case of postponement, your deposit is transferred to the new date at no extra cost (subject to availability). In case of cancellation, the terms are detailed in the contract: the deposit is non-refundable, but I always try to find an amicable solution. Force majeure cases are handled on a case-by-case basis, with understanding.
