How to choose your wedding videographer without regret
It’s not about price. It’s not about gear either. The right wedding videographer is the one you feel comfortable with before the day even begins.
Feeling first
When you speak with a videographer for the first time, ask yourself one question: can I picture spending my wedding day with this person in the room?
Because that’s exactly what’s going to happen. They’ll be there during the preparations, during the ceremony, during the most intimate moments. If you have to put on an act around them, it will show in the film.
Watch the films, not the photos
A beautiful website doesn’t make a great wedding film. Take the time to watch full films. Not just the highlights. Ask yourself:
- Do I feel something watching this?
- Does it tell a story, or is it just pretty?
- Do the couple look natural?
Discretion is not a detail
On your wedding day, you don’t want a stranger directing your guests or asking you to redo a moment. You want someone who blends into the day. Someone your guests forget about.
That’s when the truest images are born.
Ask the right questions
Don’t ask how many cameras they own. Ask them instead:
- What do you love about filming weddings?
- How would you describe your approach?
- What moves you about a day like this?
Their answers will tell you more than any spec sheet ever could.
